France beat Morocco 2-0 in the 2026 World Cup quarter-final at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, booking their semi-final spot and ending the Atlas Lions' run.

Kylian Mbappé had a penalty saved by the Moroccan goalkeeper in the 28th minute, leaving the sides level at half-time despite clear French dominance.

Mbappé made amends by opening the scoring in the 60th minute, set up by Désiré Doué, before Ousmane Dembélé doubled the lead in the 66th minute, assisted by Mbappé himself.

Despite 52% possession and 22 shots (8 on target) to France's 14, Morocco couldn't turn their statistical dominance into goals, unlike a ruthlessly efficient French side.

With this defeat, Morocco's 2026 World Cup journey ends after a second straight quarter-final appearance, while France move on to face the winner of the other quarter-final in the semis.
